'Vintage Pieces in a Modern Way' by Lauren Kelp

Vintage styling might seem like a breeze but it can be tricky to find the right balance of "then" and "now". You always want your space to feel current despite your incorporation of vintage pieces.

I decided to style a reading vignette in order to demonstrate this delicate balance of "then" and "now". I started with two vintage pieces from Langford Market's 2nd Avenue location in Austin, Texas. The 70's armless chair and vintage gold side table served as my base. I then added a few modern essentials (flowers, design books, sheepskin rug, and a dog) to ensure the final product said "chic" and not "shag". The result? A perfect place to curl up in and read a magazine!
